About MSFDA

Maharashtra State Faculty Development Academy (MSFDA) is a unique initiative of the Government of Maharashtra to design and conduct capacity building programmes for teachers and other stakeholders from universities and colleges across Maharashtra. The aim of the Academy is to nurture colleges as safe and vibrant learning spaces, thereby ensuring quality higher education to develop good, thoughtful, well-rounded and creative individuals.

MSFDA is a registered Section 8 Company established by the Department of Higher & Technical Education, GoM. The MSFDA Board is chaired by the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra & Secretaries of Higher Education, School Education, eminent educationists, Vice Chancellors, Directors of Higher & Technical Education as members of the Board.

The non-negotiable values of MSFDA includes learning beyond knowledge, eliminating competition and fear in higher education spaces, promoting skills of educators towards building relationships that nurture learning and intelligence, addressing biases and promoting inclusion and diversity, mainstreaming arts and fine art in education, and reforming evaluation.

MSFDA designs in-house programmes based on the core values of the Academy and a range of other programmes are conducted in collaboration with partners – academic / professional organisations. Thereby creating a “nexus of good”, a positive ecosystem for cross-sharing of best practices. These programmes reach out to Vice Chancellors, higher education government officials, principals, teachers, administrative staff and students, too.
