Tribal Pride Journey

Program Overview

The program designed with an experiential learning approach introduces best practices from tribal districts of Chandrapur and Gadchiroli. As part of the program participants get to interact with social reformers from organisations like Anandvan, Lok Biradari Prakalp, SEARCH and Mendha Lekha Gram Panchayat. The purpose is to instil a sense of hope, sensitivity and appreciate the need for contextualised learning for change.

Program Content

The Tribal Pride Journey is learning by seeing and experience. The participants closely experience the socio-cultural context of the region and engage in dialogue with social reformers, leaders of organizations and community at Anandvan, Lok Biradari Prakalp, SEARCH & Mendha Lekha GramPanchayat. Daily reflections among participants facilitated by organisers enables ‘connect the dots’ to higher education, role of teacher and at personal level, too to build enabling learning environment and define one’s role & contributions to society.

Knowledge Partner

Gondawana University located in Gadchiroli comprises mostly the tribal followed by other marginalised classes and scheduled caste population. The main objective of the university is to bring the tribal and marginalised classes of Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts into mainstream of higher education.
